Chick Days

A friend of ours told us about the Chick Days at a local feed and supply store. We took Claire to it and she had so much fun. She loved seeing the baby chicks and was so excited to be able to hold them.
Then they had goslings (baby geese). She got to hold one of them too. She is so proud of herself and this little gosling wanted to wiggle away from Claire.
There were many other animals there too; like kittens and two different types of puppies. There was also a small petting zoo with rabbits, goats, pigs and a pony. There were also some chickens and alpacas you could look at. Here is a picture of Claire petting the pony.
They were also giving out free hot dogs and drinks. Claire loved it. Who ever said 'there is no such thing as a free lunch"?

Egg Hunts

Claire had a great time doing Easter Egg Hunting. She was a great hunter as well. Some good friends of ours had an Easter Egg Hunt at their house a few weeks ago. Claire loved every minute of it. She loved being with the kids and of course she loved finding enough eggs to fill her basket.
Claire's second Easter Egg Hunt was a free hunt put on by Yokes. We had Claire's cousin (Bryan's cousin's daughter) Katelynn come up and go to the egg hunt with us. It was so fun except it was so cold and windy. They started the egg hunt at noon and by five after all the eggs were gone. Which is crazy considering there were thousand of eggs.
Here is Claire and Daddy anxiously waiting to here the siren sound it is time to pick up eggs. (Daddy is also doing his best to keep his little girl warm...good thing daddy is like a human blanket)
As you can see from the picture with Katelynn above, eggs littered the baseball fields. When the siren sounded Claire took off for them, but we soon noticed she was passing by many of the eggs. When we paid closer attention we noticed she was by passing all the eggs but the blue ones. She wanted to pick up only blue eggs. We did get her to pick up some different color eggs eventually.
Claire's last Easter Egg Hunt was at our house. She was really excited to see the Easter Bunny had come to her house, but once again she only went for the blue eggs. We had to convince her there were good things in the other eggs as well. She had a good time.

Easter Eggs

Claire loved every minute of dyeing Easter Eggs. She had a blast. Grandma Lois had boiled 4 dozen eggs so we had enough to just have a blast. Claire loved taking a paintbrush and dipping it in the dye and painting the eggs.
Bryan, Grandma Lois and Terin enjoying paint and dyeing Easter Eggs. Thanks for the FUN!!!

Hair Cut

The other day Claire told me she needed to go to see Janelle and get a hair cut. I needed one also so I called and got us an appointment. Claire loves to go see Janelle. Although she likes to act like she doesn't. Here is her before picture.
One of her favorite things is wearing Janelle's monster apron...that is what she calls the cover-up you wear when you get your hair cut. Sorry I didn't get a picture of her wearing the monster apron. Here is her after picture.

April Fools

This post really has nothing to do with April Fool's Day, but that is what today is so I labeled my post as such. Claire loves to pick out her own clothes. I figure she is old enough I should just let her choose what she wants to wear. Of course for certain occasions she only gets a few things to choose out of instead of her entire closet. Well today there wasn't anything that she had to be dressed a certain way. She picked out her outfit and then when we needed to go somewhere she picked her shoes, jacket and a hat to wear. I loved her outfit. It made me smile. I thought I'd share her beautiful creation with all of you.

Story Time

A friend of ours introduced us to story time at the local library. Claire absolutely loves going. Here is a picture of her and her friend Katie listening to the story. I love how they are the closest you can get to the teacher.
Then after story time they get to do music time; they get to play with instruments. Claire loves to pick out the maracas. After that depending on the day we go they color, play a game or do something else. The last time we went they made little chicks out of a toilet paper roll. Claire had so much fun making hers. She named it "Chicky Poo". Here is a picture of her with her "Chicky Poo".

Catching up

We've had lots of things happen in the past few weeks. I've been quite the slacker when it comes to updating the blog. So I've decided to finally do some updating. For Claire's birthday her Aunt Peggy sent her some Dora roller skates. She was so excited to try them out.
Although when she tried them out all she did was try and walk in them it didn't take her too long before she fell. We then tried to teach her how to slide her feet and roll the wheels. She loves them. She has such a great time rolling around in those skates. Thanks Aunt Peggy.
She also lip gloss. Her Aunt LeeAnn gave her a lip gloss watch. She loves to put the glittery lip gloss on her. She has also found it fun to put it on other things. First it was the coffee table and the next time it was....
...on her barbie. She told me she was making the barbie pretty. We tried to teach her that she doesn't put lip gloss on any thing other than lips. Which means if she has her lip gloss you need to watch out because she'll put it on any and every person's lips she can find.
Maybe I'm a slacker mom, but I finally put Claire in a bubble bath. She wasn't so sure of the bubbles at first...
...in the end she absolutely loved playing in the bubbles. She smiled and giggled. She loved to put the bubbles on top of all her toys. I guess I should have let her try out a bubble bath a long time ago.
