Bunch of Stuff

First off a friend of mine tagged me with one of those get to know you things...so here it is.

*your cell phone? I love my cell phone. Texting is a great way to get a hold of me.

*your hair? It varies. Usually shorter. I am not one to spend a lot of time doing my hair.

*your mother? One of my best friends. Someone I hope to be like someday.

*your father? One of my greatest examples. Strong, loving, dedicated and a spiritual giant.

*your favorite food? Not sure. I like pizza, cheese ravioli, crazy bread…there are just too many.

*your dream last night? To be honest I don’t remember it. The one part I do remember is I was eating a Bavarian cream filled doughnut (I love those, especially from Viera’s Bakery).

*your favorite drink? Raspberry Lemonade Propel or water.

*your dream/goal? Again I have lots of them… I want to be a good mother, I want to have a lower/no mortgage payment, I want to not feel like I’m living from paycheck to paycheck.

*what room are you in? The family room.

*your fear? Snakes and failing my family.

*where do you see yourself in 6 years? Hopefully living life to the fullest, having a lower mortgage payment, having another child, and continuing to have a loving relationship with my husband and kid/kids

*where were you last night? At my in-laws celebrating Bryan's birthday

*something that you aren't? quiet. I’m not someone who takes being a friend lightly. I always want to do everything I can for my friends and family.

*muffins? Blueberry or poppyseed

*wish list item? An SUV. A car that works well for an expanding family (when that times comes we expand)

*last thing you did? Cleaned up Claire’s cereal bowl

*what are you wearing? My PJs

*your tv? Is currently playing Dora. Its just a normal size and it works great for us.

*your pets? Buddy Boy a shih tzu. We love him. He is so cute…he just likes to bark a lot.

*friends? Yes please. I love to be with friends. I used to think I made friends easily, but not so much since I moved to Kennewick. I have friends though. My best friend has been such since we were in seventh grade. Then of course Bryan and now Claire are best friends of mine too.

*your life? Is as good as I make it or on some days as bad as I think it is. I like my life. There are things that can be improved, but I hope that never changes. I always want to be improving my life.

*your mood? I’m happy most of the time. I consider myself a happy, fun loving person.

*missing someone? My parents (they are on a mission in Sweden), and my family. I wish I could see them more often.

*vehicle? My little Kia Spectra. Its been a great car so far. (knock on wood)

*something you aren't wearing? Socks or shoes

*your favorite store? Target at least that’s where I shop the most. Delia’s since I can order pants that are the right length even a bit too long.

*your favorite color? Blue

*when was the last time you laughed? Yesterday as I looked for a birthday card for Bryan.

*the last time you cried? Monday. I always shed a tear or two reading my parent’s emails.

*your best friend? Bryan, Claire, Peggy and of course my mom.

*one place you go to over and over again? Utah… but locally Target.

*facebook? No. I am just a blogger.

*favorite place to eat? Olive Garden, Chili’s, Sweet Tomatoes (too bad the only thing close to us is Olive Garden).

Now onto the rest of the stuff I have. The other day I went to check on Claire during her rest time. This is what I found.
When I asked why she was on the floor she told me she was camping. Now here she is learning to hold her pencil correctly...Grandma Nancy would be so proud!
She is also learning to write her name.
The top one she did all by herself; the bottom one is where I held her hand trying to prevent her from drawing on she and I with a sharpie. I also helped her write her name by reminding her an L goes up and down and you dot the i. So I guess I helped, but she wrote it. I think she is doing quite well, don't you?

Day with Grandma

This post is a little behind schedule, but its better late than never updating it. A couple of Saturdays ago Grandma Lois and Claire spent the day with Cheryl and her granddaughters (Maggie and Laney). They went swimming, to lunch and then to the Children's Museum. Claire is still talking about swimming and spending time with Maggie and Laney. It was odd not having to take care of Claire all day long, but she had so much fun. Here are a couple of pictures from the museum. I think this picture Claire is at some sort of deli or something.
I guess in this one she is a future bank teller.
Here are all three girls having a good time.

Birthday Girl

I can't believe my little girl is 3 years old. For the past year she has been telling us she wanted to have a Dora birthday party, so that is exactly what we did. Here she is enjoying the food at her Dora birthday bash.
We had so much fun. We played Pin the tail on Swiper.
We went fishing.
We played a balloon game. (I think this was by far the kids' favorite game)--So in the comments people asked about this game so I am editing my post. This is the balloon game....We blew up 75+ balloons put star stickers on them (since Dora is a star catcher), we had a few buckets. We would dump the balloons out on the kids and they had to pick up the balloons and put them in their bucket as fast as possible. By the end all the kids just wanted to kick the balloons and put them back in the garbage bag in order to dump the balloons again.
We played Dora cornhole.
Of course we had a Dora Pinata.
Last but not least here is the Dora cake Bryan and I made for her.

Potato Head

For Christmas Claire got a cute package of Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head. They can be a king, princess, Mr. Potato Head, Mrs. Potato Head and a Chef. She loves them so much. Bryan has been trying to teach her to put them together all crazy (i.e. like the mouth in the ear spot and the feet on their heads). Claire decided to turn herself in to a potato head. Here is Claire doing her best impression of a potato head.

Snow

We didn't have a white Christmas, but we did have a white New Year's Eve. Here are some pictures of Claire playing in the first snow fall we had. She really wanted to make a snow angel. Here is her attempt at a snow angel.
She also wanted to make a snowman. The snow was just too powdery and wouldn't stick together. We made a laying down snowman. We just decorated the pile of snow the was built of from Bryan shoveling. Here is a our snowman...if you can call it that.
Claire wanted to help Bryan shovel. Here she is attempting to shovel. She actually did a really good job pushing the snow around.
Lois invited us sledding at her house, but we didn't think there was enough snow yet so I just pulled Claire around our yard in the sled. We tried pushing her down the little hill in our yard. It actually worked. Here she is sledding at our house.

Then on New Year's Day there was really enough snow to go up to Don and Lois' for sledding. Uncle John and Bryan took Claire sledding. She had so much fun. Here is a picture of her going down all by herself. Bryan went down next to her and then after they started he let go of the sled and she went down the hill by herself. I was proud of her.
Here is Bryan and Uncle John showing off and having a good time.
Here is Claire being a typical kid and eating snow. After they were all done sledding and playing in the snow Bryan asked Claire what she wanted for lunch and she said "I don't need lunch I already had snow." Its funny how kids think and what they say.
